World Oceans Day is celebrated to promote awareness and remind everyone that oceans form an important part of humans’ lives and simply cannot be ignored or mistreated any longer. Oceans not only provide 80% of the oxygen individuals breathe but also are a significant source of food and medicines. This is why it is essential for the public to be aware and educated about the impact of human actions on the ocean. It is a time for supporters of the oceans to focus on conservation and sustainability, to preserve the oceans and help ensure a healthy home for both animals and humans.
Since 2009, Relais & Châteaux has been dedicated to promoting ocean preservation and protecting marine wildlife. De Mondion, along with numerous other hotels and restaurants, will once again be participating in this initiative. The hope is that by introducing underutilized fish on menus at Relais & Châteaux properties across the world will help discourage the act of mass farming over-sourced seafood.
